Hi Folks,

Just a quick post today. I have been working on my website, using the wonderful online wix.com tool, and have finally launched it today at http://suekb6.wix.com/cyrilsloth. It has links to my Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Flickr accounts (as well as this blog) plus information about sloths and where you can visit them in both South America and Britain. Happy New Year Everyone!

 

Last night I met some of my extended family. We had a New Year's Eve party. It was lots of fun - I had a good conversation with my Grandfather...

We pulled party poppers, played games and wore hats. I think I look rather fetching in this one:


Well I struggled but, having managed to get a bit of kip during the day, I stayed up until midnight!

 

My Amazing Sloth Fact

We can sleep for up to 20 hours a day (I had a bit of catching up to do today!)

 

My First Snow!

 




Today I saw snow for the first time ever! Being a sloth, and more geared up for the rainforests of South America, I borrowed a hat and scarf from a woolly snowman, wrapped up warm and ventured into the garden. It was what the humans call 'a very light dusting' of snow so not really enough to build a snow sloth! Can you spot three other types of animal in the picture?



We ran around in the snow to make some footprints and keep warm:

Later I went on my first day trip with my new found family. We took a car ride to the local wildlife trust centre, where we...

and admired some of the amazing sculptures!

Then we had lunch at the garden centre







It was a fantastic day and I look forward to many more like it!

Welcome to the world of Sloths

 Hi, I'm Cyril Sloth!


My story begins on 25th December 2014, after many months on a shop shelf, followed by several weeks in a dark cupboard, I found myself in a Christmas stocking. It was warm and cosy in front of the wood burner, but all I longed for was a friend.  

 Then a young girl called Charlotte rushed excitedly into the room and picked me up and held me in her arms. I was so happy to know she was my new owner. I had a great first day in my new home, with my adoptive family.

      
  We played games, pulled crackers and had a delicious dinner.

 I am going to have many adventures with my new family and I will be using my blog to tell you all about them and all about sloths and how you can help them in the wild.
